1.1 Call to Order – Roll Call

The Orleans Parish School Board Business Meeting was called to order at 1:00pm by Board Vice President Leslie Ellison. The following board members were present: Ethan Ashley, Leslie Ellison, Ben Kleban, Nolan Marshall Jr. Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis Jr. and Board Counsel Sharonda Williams were also present. Board President John A. Brown Sr., Woody Koppel, and Sarah Newell Usdin were absent.

1.2 Pledge of Allegiance

The pledge was led by Nolan Marshall Jr.

1.3 Adoption of the Agenda

Motion to adopt the board meeting agenda as provided.

ACTION ITEMS

2.1 Amendment to Orleans Parish School Board Meeting Schedule for 2019  

It is recommended that the Orleans Parish School Board amends its 2019 Meeting Schedule to delete the June 18, 2019 committee meetings and to reschedule the June regular business meeting from June 20 to June 27, 2019.

·        Motion by Nolan Marshall Jr., second by Ethan Ashley

·        Final Resolution: Motion passes

·        Nays: none

Ms. Ellison asked for a motion to move to Executive Session at 1:02pm.

Reconvened from Executive Session at 2:11pm. The following board members were present: Ethan Ashley, Leslie Ellison, Ben Kleban, Nolan Marshall Jr. Superintendent Dr. Henderson Lewis Jr. and Board Counsel Sharonda Williams were also present. Board President John A. Brown Sr., Woody Koppel, and Sarah Newell Usdin were absent.

3.1 James Lawson v. Anco Insulations, Inc., CDC No. 2018-05054; Personal Injury Litigation 

It is recommended that the Orleans Parish School Board approves next steps in this matter as recommended by its legal counsel.
